Extension building in Widnau
Latent errors discovered and renovation management undertaken
After an extension build in 2008, smell pollution, damp and mildew arose in the bathroom and neighbouring areas. Over many years, a lot of experts came and went. At the end of February 2018, bauhelp! took over the consultancy mandate and, using modern and non-invasive methods in collaboration with the experts from aib tech GmbH, discovered the latent defect: one ventilation pipe had simply been cut during renovation and left without any connection directly behind an installation wall. As a result, damp and sewer gas arose. The defective ventilation of the sewage system furthermore led to a suctioning of the pipes, which entailed more smell pollution. After it was traced, an ad hoc renovation design was developed and implemented, so that the house was again habitable within a few weeks. The defects were documented in a way usable by the courts.
