Construction damage claims lead to a down-valuation of the object

A construction defect is a deviation of the present state of a building works from the duly intended state. A construction defect does not necessarily have to be a mistake made during implementation, but instead can also be a deviation from the purchase order. Uncorrected construction defects may, in certain circumstances, lead to a construction claim and, in general, to the down-valuation of a construction work.

Defects and damage to building or structural works may represent visual or also functional impairments, as well as causing reductions to safety and stability. Claims, in general, presuppose a defect.

Their causes do not always lie in building materials or their processing. Often, construction damage claims are the results of operating error or wear. Not least, damage claims for buildings can also arise from, where applicable, storm, flood, hail, lightning or damage from third parties.
